Bancroft Sports welcomes all patrons to our brand new refurbished premises. Our recreational facilities have been modernized and expanded to accommodate a larger number of patrons than in previous years. Thanks to community support we now have 3 ice rinks, 2 indoor sports turf athletic fields and a fully equipped gymnasium.

Located opposite Danvers Mall on St Edwards Street, we are conveniently located in the centre of Winnipeg. There is plenty of parking space and access to public transport near the complex. We also have a pro shop where you can get all kitted out for whatever sporting activity you want to pursue. The shop stocks equipment suited to both children and adults of various sizes.

As most of you know ice rink C has been closed for a few months due to electrical issues with the cooling system. After consulting with local electrical contractors we’ve decided that it’s going to be too costly to have it repaired, so we’re going to be converting it to an indoor soccer field. We’re excited to be hosting our first indoor soccer season beginning in September 2015!

We have started our hockey tryouts this season. Until the end of November this year, we will have coaches available every weekday morning at our ice rink. They will be helping kids between the ages of 5 to 12 years try out for various positions on the teams. No previous experience is required. They will be taken through the basic of skating and how ice hockey is played. Make sure however that your child has properly fitted skates. All other equipment is provided on site.

We have posted signup sheets for adult hockey teams on the notice board. Get in touch with the indicated contact person to find out more details on practice schedules. Please note that adult sign ups are required to already have basic skating skills including backward skating and hockey stop to participate. Team signs ups are also invited and should get in touch with the manager to reserve rinks for practice and join the league.

All hockey teams are advised that there is limited hockey equipment available. Reserve your use of the equipment through the manager’s office. The same applies to reserving rinks for practice sessions.

All visitors to the ice rinks are advised to avoid areas covered with orange tarp. This indicates damaged ice that could be dangerous to skate over. We expect to resolve the problem b the end of the week.
